One day International Conference on Counerting Violent Extremism

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Counter Violent Extremism (CVE) recently organized a One Day International Conference focused on countering violent extremism. The conference was a crucial step in addressing the rising challenge of extremism, especially amongst the youth.

 Dr. Aneela Mahfooz Durrani, Secretary of the Higher Education Department, also graced the event with her presence and highlighted the urgency of protecting the youth from the influence of extremist tendencies. 

During the conference, an important Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed, signifying the commitment of the authorities to tackle the issue of violent extremism head-on. The establishment of the KP CVE is a significant stride towards addressing these pressing concerns and ensuring the safety of the youth. 

Dr. Aneela Mahfooz Durrani stressed the importance of sensitizing the youth to the dangers of extremism and its potential influence. She acknowledged that extremism is a challenge that the society faces today and needs to be addressed promptly. The conference served as a platform to initiate conversations, share insights, and explore strategies to counter this threat effectively. 

She also highlighted the importance of women's empowerment in the fight against extremism. She emphasized that a society where women are empowered can contribute significantly to countering extremist ideologies and promoting a peaceful environment.
